For "The Lightest Breath" Collection of original paint on paper, Derrit Meyer was inspired by the City of Victoria, Vancouver Island, Canada, Lekwungen Territory. Derritt moved to the city from Kelowna where he had lived for 5 years. "The Lightest Breath" is his first collection of paintings to see publication, as Derritt is self-taught, using a secret method for his work. Using found materials such as old signage and gift wrap paper, Derritt sees art in all aspects of his surroundings. He constantly produces an almost Jackson Pollock style of thrown paint, often using dollar store paints for his incredible work. Derritt loves to ride his electric scooter and is a Raptors fan.

“I live and work on the un-ceded, un-surrendered Territory of the Lekwungen people.” -DM
